This drawing served as a model when Bill’s old friend Dale Lamphere asked him to design an art piece to be fabricated out of salvaged copper from the dome of the South Dakota State Capitol. The theme is fairly straightforward, calling on the intersections of half-square diagonals to determine the various radii of the great circle.
